All of our fishing is catch and release only. In fact we were the first fishery in Ireland to introduce catch & release only – over 30 years ago!
Clonanav Fly Fishing & Guest- house was founded by the Ryan Family in the mid-1990s as a guest- house that also provided access to great fly fishing on the nearby Suir, Nire, and Tar Rivers. Since then, the business has evolved with the eldest son Andrew Ryan setting up his own pro-level fly shop, fly fishing school, outfitting business, and all-inclusive trip packages.
Clonanav Fly Fishing is now recognized as the premier destination for stream fishing in Ireland, offering unparalleled levels of service and some of the country’s most accomplished and seasoned guides. At Clonanav you will get the highest level of guiding. Our guides are very experienced and have intimate knowledge of the rivers and techniques that fish best on them. All our our fishing is guided only.
Clonanav Fly Fishing is owned and operated by Andrew Ryan. Andrew has been guiding the river Suir and tributaries since his teens.
His passion for fishing and guiding ultimately led him to setting up his own guiding operation and fly fishing shop in the Nire Valley, Co Waterford where he was raised. For over 20 years Andrew has honed some of the best fly fishing programmes available in Ireland. He offers some of the best river brown trout and salmon fishing available in the country.
